AIP DESIGN SERVICES
Decades of experience in the business of aircraft interiors have equipped AIP with an uncommon perspective. We understand possibilities. Working within the engineered limitations of flight safety, the AIP design staff apply a thoughtful sort of encouragement to your expectations. Because their knowledge of flight-certified materials is comprehensive and detailed, because we’ve invested in the software, the technology appropriate to the support of our in-house design talent, we can almost always say “yes.” Yes, an aircraft cabin can replicate essentially any earthbound room in its beauty and functionality, if . . . if its designer has mastered the disciplines of weight and space.
Meanwhile, AIP design technology will give you every opportunity to preview your ideas in virtual reality. We’ll listen to your wishes for your aircraft’s interior, and then we’ll show you back those wishes in an essentially three-dimensional mock-up of proposed colors and textures, an AIP exclusive, available nowhere else in the industry.
Come to AIP for aircraft interior design services, for creativity that can fly.
CARPETING
We’re not certain which one of the Wrights -- Orville or Wilbur, perhaps their mother -- first thought to put a nice Berber on the floor of their new-fangled flying machine. Obviously, carpet makes the aircraft’s interior more comfortable and inviting, retaining warmth and diminishing loud sounds, softening the ambience all around.
AIP will help you find, quickly and efficiently, the carpeting that matches in only-you terms your needs for style, hardiness, availability, and enduring performance. From the supremely individual beauties of custom, hand-tufted, uniquely crafted carpeting available nowhere else in the world to the immediate and oh-so-practical advantages of our in-stock styles, AIP will help you put the world underfoot.
Fibers Used in our Carpets
Natural Fibers
Wools
We’re especially strong in wools, the most resilient of all carpet fibers. Wool is also fire-resistant, inherently so. Lanolin, wool’s natural oil, repels moisture and fights stains, even as woolens clean themselves in their inevitable shedding.
Designer-preferred, with stunning long-lived good looks and inherent performance over the years, wool stands up tough to traffic by the ton. Naturally flame-resistant, naturally insulating. Environmentally responsible all the way. In any color or pattern you can dream .
Silk
Among the most robust of all natural fibers, silk exceeds even nylon in its tensile strength. (Should a single silk fiber with the diameter of a pencil ever be produced, the fiber could lift a 747.) Silk’s durability lies beyond question, as does its fire resistance. Meanwhile, silk absorbs dyes without question, producing rich, saturated colors of an almost translucent luster. Closely clipped and tightly woven, silk carpets accept and amplify even the most complex patterning. AIP will guide you carefully through the selection process, most especially in the distinctions between genuine and artificial silks.
Man-Made Fibers
Nylon
FAR regulations allow the use of nylon carpeting in singles and light twins.
Standard AIP “Certificate of Conformance” is provided at no charge but actual burn testing is available for issuance of data sheet and FAA documentation (Additional fee applies). Come to AIP for an array of textures and colors, with sudden availability, at very affordable prices. The best prices in the industry, in fact.
Carpet Styles
Hand-Made Custom Carpet
AIP can build custom carpet in the most intricate patterns at a price essentially half of our would-be competitors’: any pattern, any combination of as many colors as you might imagine. And even here -- in the highest, the most deeply individual expression of the carpet-maker’s art -- we concern ourselves with your scheduling. Timely delivery is an essential component of value, and AIP is always, always, all about value.
Machine-Made Custom Carpet
AIP maintains the most diverse capabilities for small runs in custom patterns in the aviation industry. With all the personalization, all the signature styling of our handmade carpets, these machine-made patterns continue AIP’s tradition of excellence -- in all price ranges. On delivery times unequalled in the industry.
Stock Carpet
“Stock” does not fully describe AIP’s capacity in carpets ready to deliver quickly. While price and availability remain the immediate advantages of in-stock carpet, AIP adds both breadth of selection and opportunity for customization. (On larger minimum orders some of our stock carpet can be made in custom colors.) We’ll help you find carpeting that will ship in as few as three days, that will offer genuine, need-specific value for years to come.
Serviceable and value-added in all sorts of applications -- from charter to fractional ownership -- AIP stock carpets answer essentially any need.
LAMINATES
The last word in Laminates.
“Lamin-ART.”
The design leader in premium high-pressure decorative laminates, Lamin-Art partners with AIP to offer an exclusive range of wood grain interpretations and Pearlescence® solid colors that are perfectly suited for aircraft interiors.
Printed and manufactured using the latest technology, Lamin-Art’s Premium Wood Prints represent the most realistic-looking reproductions of native and exotic wood species available in high-pressure laminate. Offering unparalleled depth and complexity, these refined wood prints are true to Mother Nature’s beauty while offering a functional and durable surface that will add a touch of elegance to any aircraft cabin.
Please use the samples shown here as thought-starters. Your actual choices are panoramic and inclusive, infinite blends of elegance and functionality, King Airs to 747s.
FABRICS
Pick a fabric.
Pick a fabric for a bulkhead or a headliner, for any onboard application.
Use an educated, an excitable eye, and pick pretty much any fabric on earth.
And then we’ll make this promise.
AIP will find, and then deliver on a predetermined schedule at a predetermined price, the fabric you have just chosen. We represent fabrics from the world’s leading designers, European and Asian, from such icons as Pollack, Jim Thompson, Robert Allen, and others. Think of us as facilitators, as logisticians. Think of us too as converters, ready to translate any design concept into the warp and woof of fabric never before seen.
Enough said.
Unless of course, delivery schedules are tight: in which case, pick a fabric from AIP’s proprietary collection of styles, colors, and patterns.
SYNTHETIC LEATHER
Neather 2.0? is not the natural-born skin of a well-groomed Brahmer bull.
It’s better. Better and less expensive.
With the dashing good looks and unmistakable feel of conventional leather, with
characteristics of performance superior to conventional leather, supple Neather 2.0 adapts to even the most complex surfaces, installs easily, stretching in any direction without distortion, no master upholsterers rquired. Neather 2.0 resists stains, with simple cleanup after an inevitable spill. On headliners, on sidewalls, on window panels, Neather 2.0 is changing the way an entire industry thinks about leather.
And Neather 2.0 comes in all sorts of colors, colors occurring in Nature . . . and otherwise.
Naugahyde® Fabric
Naugahyde responds to the challenges of robust use throughout an aircraft’s cockpit and cabin with the virtues that have made the fabric legendary: strength, stain resistance, ease of maintenance, and affordable good looks.

Lonseal flooring answers the demands of aircraft-specific installation. From resistance to soil and wear to ease of maintenance, from cushioning underfoot to understated style, Lonseal flooring stands up to the rigors of flight.
Aerofloor
Lightweight and exceptionally durable, affordable, easy on the eye, Aerofloor flooring ensures safety and comfort throughout the cabin. AIP ensures competitive price and on-time scheduling.
Fabricating and Kitting
AIP has made the on-time delivery of standardized carpeting packages an exact and replicable science. Our carpet kits are accurate (to within a hair‘s .040” tolerance) and easily installed, thereby bringing a new measure of cost savings and productivity to OEMs and refurbishment centers alike. Depending on the specification, all edges on AIP kitted carpets can be serged, bound, or buttered.
We’ve invested in the largest Aristo CNC carpet-cutting machine ever to operate in the continental United States, which is an exclusive AIP capability representing the first-ever application of this technology for business aviation. This investment will pay major dividends in simplifying your installations which translates to reducing costs of new carpeting for each of your customers. Using furnished templates or your own CAD drawings, we’ll ship ready to install kits that accelerate your assembly processes. When it comes to carpet fabrication, count on AIP for the entire aircraft -- each made exactly to order, each arriving on a schedule of your making.
